Veena Malik appeared nude on the cover of FHM magazine with an ‘ISI’ tattoo on her arm, but has been forced to deny it after it sparked outrage among conservatives in Pakistan - both for her nudity and the reference to the country’s intelligence agency.

The controversial photo appears on the December issue of the magazine.

The image, which was revealed on FHM India’s website, Facebook page and Twitter account simultaneously, shows her nude with her arms and one leg positioned to cover her breasts and pubic area.

On her arm are emblazoned the initials ''ISI'' - the acronym for Pakistan''s feared Inter-Services Intelligence agency - with the tag line, ‘hand in the end of the world too?’

But Malik has denied posing for the lads’ mag and insists that the photo is morphed.

“I have never posed nude. I have never done anything like that ever,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

“My manager and legal team is looking into the matter. We will take legal action against them,” she added.

FHM India’s editor, Kabeer Sharma, said that nothing had been doctored, and that the magazine could prove the photo’s authenticity.

“We have video footage of the shoot as well as emails from Veena about how she’s looking forward to the cover,” BBC quoted him as saying.

Sharma said the reference to Pakistani intelligence was meant to be light-hearted, saying: “In India we joke about this... if anything goes wrong... we say the ISI must be behind this.”

Pakistani actress Veena Malik, whose nude photo on the cover of India’s edition of FHM magazine has stirred controversy in both Pakistan and India, has denied posing in the buff for the photo and claims that it is a fake, while the magazine editor maintains that the photo shoot was for real, Geo News reported.

The December issue of FHM magazine, which carried a photo of Malik on its cover page, has caused a sensation in Pakistan both for the nudity and the tattoo on her arms of the initials of Pakistan’s controversial Inter-Services Intelligence Spy agency (ISI).

Following the controversy, Malik denied the reports of her posing in the nude on the cover of FHM. In a telephonic interview with Express News, the actress claimed that the picture was “morphed” and the shoot was done with clothes on.

“I have never posed nude. I have never done anything like that ever. My manager and legal team are looking into the matter. We will take legal action against them,” said Veena.

She asked him if he had not violated the Islamic law by watching a strange woman (Malik in the Bigg Boss show) more than once. Malik, soon received a threatening letter by Maulana Masood, a terrorist leader known for his connections with Osama bin Laden. The letter accused her of humiliating Islam and Pakistan's name during her stay in the Bigg Boss' house. Before entering Bigg Boss, Malik had established herself as a leading actress in Urdu cinema in Pakistan. She also worked with news and entertainment channels. Malik is known for her various social and liberal causes. She is also a representative of the World Health Organization. Early life
Garner is the second of three daughters born into a middle class family in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Patricia Ann (née English), was an English teacher from Oklahoma, and her father, Bill John Garner, worked as a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. When she was four years old, her father's job with Union Carbide relocated her family to Princeton, West Virginia, and then later to Charleston, West Virginia, where Garner resided until her college years. She has credited her older sister, Melissa Lynn Garner Wylie, who resides in Boston, Massachusetts, as a source of inspiration to her. Her younger sister is Susannah Kay Garner Carpenter.
Garner's conservative upbringing included going to church every Sunday, not wearing make-up or a bikini, and waiting at least until the age of 16 to be allowed to get her ears pierced, which, she later joked, made her family "just a step away from being Amish." She began taking ballet lessons at the age of three and continued to dance throughout her youth, but she did not envision herself becoming a classical ballerina. Garner attended the George Washington High School in Charleston. In 1990, she enrolled at Ohio's Denison University, where she majored in drama and worked in numerous theatrical productions. n one of my blog entries last year, I was complaining about not being able to find a CD I was looking for in any of the stores I went to. I mentioned how sad it was that all the record stores seemed to be disappearing. I ultimately took on some of the blame myself for being lazy and doing most of my music shopping online. I felt bad for the artists that couldn’t get their product into the traditional bricks and mortar stores and I bitched about the big box stores like Best Buy and the late Circuit City only stocking greatest hits and Top 40 music. Recently a more disturbing angle has surfaced.

The country duo, Sugarland, who I’m not a fan of and refuse to acknowledge them as a band since they are only two people, pulled some shit that, in a perfect world, would hopefully induce people to burn Sugarland’s CD’s. They signed an exclusivity contract with Wal-Mart which means that you can only get their new album in that store. Hell, I can’t even buy it online.

Ordinarily I probably wouldn’t care where they sold it because I’m not buying their crap anyway but then I read an article in the Los Angeles Times that got me thinking a little different. It seems that the owner of Decatur CD, an indie music shop in the town where Sugarland got its start, called them out because the store had supported them back in the day and now were being prevented from selling their new CD. Owner, Warren Hudson said, “by shutting the door on independent record stores, you’re in effect shutting the door on your hometown.” So now not only are we as customers not darkening the doorsteps of the independent record stores, apparently neither are some artists.

Sugarland is not the first to do this. AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, The Eagles, Springsteen and Prince are among the artists who have traversed this ground already. And for what? Money, pure and simple. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against money but this route seems fraught with peril. Deals like these put up-front money in the artists pockets but ultimately do more harm than good. I remember back when The Eagles did this, I was so annoyed that I decided to skip the Wal-Mart trip and find other means of acquisition. Sorry guys, you could have had my fifteen bucks. Instead you got nothing and I still ended up getting my fill of your new music up until the point I got sick of it and deleted it from my ever-shrinking hard drive.

The Eagles album did very well but I wonder how much better it would have done if it had been available at more stores and online. Sugarland’s album, “Live on the Inside” sold just 25 percent of what their last album did when it was widely available. To be fair, the new record is a live album of mostly previously released material, but again, maybe it would have done better.

So let’s recap. Sugarland has shown us that money comes before their fans and other supporters; they are, in effect promoting illegal downloading and piracy; and they are contributing to the demise of the little guy. Is it worth it, Sugarland? I don’t think so, but then most of my actions don’t revolve around money. Maybe if they did I would be in a better overall financial position right now, but I digress. And by the way, this is the second blog in a row where I’ve had to bitch about Sugarland. There had best not be a third.

Do you think with a cordinated effort on part of the IV members that we could/should write a well drafted letter to the USCIS to not target H1b worker for the cause of unemployment. Highlighting the various well researched articles that clearly say that H1b creates/retains jobs and the more they target H1b the more employment is affected. The real problem is outsourcing.

Hi Attorneys,

Recently I have filed my H1B petition . However due to some emergency I need to quit my current organisation (Company A) who has sponsored the H1B . My questions are :

1. Would there be any adverse effect if in future Company B files H1B for me ?
2. What generally happens if I file H1B and am not able to attend the interview ?
3. Is there any way Company A can revoke the H1B petition after I resign before H1B interview ?

Would appreciate a quick a reply .

1. There shouldn't be any negative consequences if you change from one H-1B employer to another. People do this all the time.

2. What "interview" do you refer to? If you mean a visa interview at the consulate, you should cancel if you cannot attend.

3. Company A can and should withdraw the H-1B petition once you leave the company. This should not affect you getting new H-1B status, assuming there is no major gap between leaving Company A and Company B filing the new petition.

I have similar issue and spoke to my Immig Attorney, who advised me as follows-

(1) In order to maintain your resident alien status, you should be in USA more than 181 days, in other words it is adviseable to stay less than 180 days outside USA.

(2) It is adviseable that you return to USA, ASAP, once you get CRIS email that GC approval has been provided.

(3) I believe you are going to use AP. You would prepare your I-94 card at the POA and the POA officer would ask you where you are employed before putting stamp on I-94. Be prepared to answer that question. Most likely 99%, the POE IO will not ask any proof. However, it is adviseable to have a current job (sort of Employment Verification Letter) and leave letter approval.

May I ask what I should do in the following situation?

I hold F1 visa and my new job starts on Sept 1. The int'l student office of my current university mistakenly set my OPT start date on May 6. My OPT has been approved and EAD card arrived.

That is, I will have 120-plus "unemployment" days accumulated by early August, which will then violate the "90-day unemployment rule" of OPT.

I am under tremendous pressure and really want to hear your opinions.

An L-1 work visa is issued to an executive of a company that has worked with his/her company outside of the USA for at least one year. Dependents receive L-2 visas and a spouse can apply for an EAD. Trouble is, if the exec is laid off, all of the dependant visas immediately expire and both the exec and his/her spouse must leave the USA!

Any ideas how to alleviate this issue? Getting a H1B visa is impractical since they are so scarce.

Also in this case, is the exec's employer liable for relocation expenses?

Were your collegues EB-2 classification with old PDs from the DoL's backlog centres?

I see some of the EB-2 indian nationals with old PDs received approvals so that USCIS can process their I-485.

If you are EB-3 then you might want to wait until Dec 2007.

Its at the discretion of the officer at POE.......I was asked for my EAD even when I had a valid H1B and last time when I had travelled on AP I was asked for my EAD......

why don't you apply for duplicate documents with the USCIS?

Hi Guys,

A quick one. I have a HIb visa which is expiring on 9th of next month . I have never worked for that employer as things did'nt work out. I am currently in Australia and want to work as a contractor in US. I have already figured out who is going to transfer/sponsor my new H1.

I am pretty sure that my employer would have cancelled my h1 which was allotted to me in 2007 quota.
I have a tourist visa as well and i intend to goto US on that Visa and work out on the transfer of my H1 once i land there.

Can i really do the above or am i getting too optimistic.
Please reply soon as i have to make some really quick decisions.

I am currently awaiting approval for my I-485. My priority date is August 2006 and I completed fingerprinting on Oct. 29th.

I understand the process of allocating green cards based on employment-based category and queuing based on the labor/priority date.

My question is regarding COUNTRY LIMITS. What role do these limits play in the approval process? To be more specific, if the applicant is from a country that has a very low number of GC requests, does the fulfillment of the country limit take precedence over the priority date/EB category or does it succeed the latter?
